生活故事
1940

Benjamin Abiodun Adeniji Alamu Farinu was born in Oyo town, Oyo state Western Nigeria on January 1st 1940 hence his natural name of Abiodun. His Father was John Ayoade Farinu of Agbo ile Ogundeyi, Idi-Ape Oyo while his mother was Madam Dorcas Adeoti Farinu. He was the middle child in a family of 5 boys and had a striking semblance to his mother. BAF as we all called him stood at 6 ft 4 inches and naturally attracted attention anywhere he went with his height, tooth and dimply smile. He had his primary and secondary school in Oyo and was sent to train to become a carpenter in Oyo before his immediate senior brother - Samson Adepoju Farinu who was then in London sent for him to study in the UK. He stopped in Freetown for a year en route to UK. He studied Business Administration and Management in the UK and on his return worked with the UAC group before joining the family business established with his brothers - Farakan Enterprises in 1970. The family business grew in leaps and bounds into areas of trading, general merchandising, real estate, tailoring amongst others. In his days at Farakan, he travelled the length and breadth of Nigeria. In 1969, he got married to his heartthrob Morenike Victoria nee Awosika a native of Ondo and the marriage is blessed with a daughter Adekunbi Odunola Wuraola. He ventured into marriage in 1978 again with Franciscka Olayinka nee Shobande a native of Abeokuta and the marriage is blessed with a daughter Adebanke Adetoro Afonja. Even though he had 2 wives and 2 daughters, he made sure that his home was a happy one where all his family related as one. He established his business BAF and ran it with all his might even till the end. He was a founding and active member of Opebi-Oregun Lions Club. He was also an active member of the Atiba Osborne residents association in mende. He was an active member and president of the Men Auxiliary of Oshodi Methodist church, chairman building committee and harvest committee for several years in both Oshodi Methodist Church and Apaara Methodist Church in Oyo. He was a dart player representing Oyo and became President of the association in Oyo and President of Oyo Premier Club. He retired to Oyo about 14 years ago and became active in farming and community activities. In the last 3 years he had battled with his health especially diabetes and kidney failure. He left behind his 2 wives - Moke & Yinka, his children - Adekunbi & Ayodeji Wuraola, Adebanke & Adebola Afonja, his 87 year old elder brother Samuel Adedokun, His immediate Junior brother Ezekiel Ajibade and his 5 grandchildren, Oluwatishemilore, Oluwatibamishetemi, Olutunmishe, AyoOluwanimi and Ore-OfeOluwa. On his dying bed, he took solace and comfort in his favourite song-To ba ni Jesu ko di mu....... Jesu Oluwa mi mumi duro dopin
